I am not sure how the time flew by, but suddenly the creation of Christmas cards has invaded my craft loft. So I thought I would share some of my new creations. I also have posted a photo of my newest plant. A very cool Christmas cactus!! It is in full bloom right now, not sure how long it will last but sure worth a picture. Enjoy.

I have been jumping into the challenges with both feet lately, guess that is a good thing. I love when a template is given and you can create your own design and the options are endless! I used the new in colours of SU for this card and their DSP so I think it turned rather okay with a nice little wow factor. Hope that didn't sound too pretentious :) Thanks for looking!

Here is my card for the CPS Challenge. I thought I would create a Christmas card since I know many bloggers and card makers will be incredibly busy designing new creations! I love these colours because I combined DP with my favourite, kiwi kiss and artichoke and the real red popped the colours for Christmas.Hope it makes you smile.

I had the awesome privilege of being the guest designer for Renaissance by Design for the month of September and these are the creations for Devon's new Halloween set released today! Renaissance by Design creates awesome stamps that can use SU ink,and her ribbons are a taffeta texture with beautiful colours. I am new to the world of purchasing stamps from across the border, so I took a big leap and purchased stamps from Unity and I absolutely love them. I had my stamps within a week, the shipping was so reasonable and the quality was awesome. I was asked to make a card for a baby/maternity shop and I loved this stamp. The other card is for a gourmet shop that specializes in the yummiest cupcakes. So hope you like them! I am going to have to control my stamp buying budget,so many great companies out there to choose from.

Have you noticed that oodles of stamp companies are creating trendy trees for their new stamps. I love this one by Renaissance by Design The set is called Roots and Wings and you can add in different leaves depending on the season. I used the words from another set from Devon called Cherished Thanks. You must check them out since they are Canadian and the service is great!

I have always wanted to use colourful cardstock in a way other than with stamping so I thought this paper would look awesome if you cut out some of the flowers. It happened to blend perfectly with the colours of SU paper that I still had in stock. Hope you like it and thanks taking a peak!

We are going to the Zoo!

This time of year was my favourite time to go to the zoo when our girls were small. The temperature was great, the animals were lively and it just made for a great day adventure. So here are some fun cards I created using stamps from the Unity Stamp Company.. This is my first set from Unity, a Momma's Day present from my daughter. They are great durable red rubber stamps and they were awesome to colour with my tombows. More creatures will be sure to follow!

Tea is one of those drinks that passes the test of time as a wonderful way to soothe the soul. It can invigorate, calm , or even be used to celebrate life's moments. This stamp set is from Renaissance by Design It is an amazing company owned by Devon that creates beautiful stamps in Canada. Yeah for Canadian creators! Her stamps come beautifully packaged in tins and I am so impressed with the images and phrases that I know that Renaissance by Design will become a new favourite for me. I will be posting more images later that were created with some of the other sets. So enjoy a soothing cup of tea today - it is raining cats and dogs here today so a good day for something warm to drink. Enjoy!

Mojo Monday 86

The world of Mojos has been the greatest inspiration for me. When I have a template I run up to my loft and pull out all my odds and ends of paper and think about what I can create. It is great way to use up tidbits! This time I watercoloured three pictures from Sunshine Designs with tombows and I must say I will be sad to see Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze leave the SU lineup. Hard to believe they can come up with new colours that will be as popular. Thanks for looking!

Watercolouring

The past few days the buds on the trees are popping out, the flowers are starting to open their eyes to the sun, and you can hear the buzz of lawnmowers in the neighbourhood. So spring is here!!!! I decided to watercolour some great stamps from Krista Schneider who is the creator of Sunshine Designs. I love colouring her images because they come to life when you blend the colours. Enjoy the smells and colours of spring.

My guess is that most card makers like to colour. At some point in their life they got excited about the new box of crayola crayons - especially the one with 96 colours and a sharpener in the back of the box. Well many years later I am colouring with tombow markers and picked up some great stamps at Scrapfest 2009 on the weekend.
Colouring is very relaxing and I love the end product. This card is on it's way to the store so I took a picture so I would remember how I made it. Have a great spring day!

Taking the Challenge

This card is heading into the mail tomorrow for a card challenge in California. When you put red, black and white together in a card, it makes for a classy combo. Eastern blooms from SU is one of my favourite stamp sets because you can make many unique colour combinations. So who knows if this one will make publication but if not I am sure someone will enjoy it!

Loving Mojo Mondays

I think this could be dangerous getting addicted to Mojo Mondays.They are great sketches to inspire me to make new cards. I think this will be added to my " to do list" for Mondays( much more fun than tidying the house). Hope you like the colours. I am going to miss Kiwi Kiss when SU brings in new colours! It is a definite fave of mine - so add in taken with teal and tangerine tango and it makes a great springy card. Thanks for looking at challenge #82.

Little Bits of Paper

It gives me great satisfaction when I can use up 1"strips of paper to create a nice card. This was the case with the great stamp set pick a petal! I was able to stamp on designer paper and use the reverse side for contrasting petals. My topnote always comes in handy for embellishing cards and the cuttlebug factor added just enough texture to make my card look finished. Hope you like it! We are going to make a similar one at the make'n take in May but with fresh spring colours.

Yeah for Red and Brown

Years ago you would never have put the red and brown colour combintation on a card or in your wardrobe but it is a new day. I think this card looks awesome and then add in kiwi kiss and it just pops. The little sizzlit dies from SU are so fun to use when you want to add dimension to your cards. Spring is definitely in the air so enjoy this new card as part of the Mojo Monday challenge #81. This is my first challenge!

Baby Bundle Stamp Camp

Here it is! The Baby Bundle Stamp Camp class and I think it really is cute. You can make this for a baby shower and fill the paint pail with baby goodies, and the new mom will love the little journal to track how her wee one changes over the twelve months. Do you remember the days of running around buying the hottest new release of beanie babies? I do....thinking that this enormous collection of stuffed creatures would then pay for my daughter's university education. Hah! They are now sitting in a Rubbermaid bin in our basement collecting dust bunnies. Perhaps I should sell all of them now to finance my stamping business:).
This card is for a baby shower my daughter is attending in a few weeks in Ottawa, so it will be popped into the mail tomorrow. The baby is predicted to be a boy so the choice of a green, blue and brown colour scheme created this card. Thanks for taking a peek.
